refero has created these statements and guidelines in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to security and privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for the refero website at: www.refero.co.uk.

Registration & Personally Identifiable Information:
On certain pages, we may give users the option of providing us with names, addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers, email addresses, demographic data, preference information, and various other kinds of details. Data Maintenance & Security Data accuracy, confidentiality, and security are of the utmost importance to refero. We understand that ensuring the integrity of the data contained on the sRDMS database is paramount. For this reason refero have integrated strict security measures to protect the database against unauthorised access, virus attacks and even natural disasters.

Registration The registration process requires direct interaction with the refero Client Support Team. By precluding 'online' registration, the potential for exploitation and fraud by means of using misinformation is reduced.

Password
Users and Administrators are required to enter a username and password before they can log on to their sRDMS account. No references can be submitted or retrieved unless this username and password has been provided.

Reference Access
To access a reference Users must log on to their sRDMS account using their username and password. They must then enter the Employer Code number, Employee National Insurance number and the Date (Month/Year) that the employee finished employment with the respective employer. By requesting all of this information refero can make certain only authorized access to employee references is granted.

Notifications
The refero sRDMS features a notification system, which notifies the Administrator every time a change is made to a reference in their account.

Client Discretion
Employers have the option to include as much or as little reference information as they choose.

Security
Firewall - refero uses a firewall to screen all Users of the sRDMS and prevent unauthorized access. This measure protects database from accidental or intentional damage.
Antivirus software - refero always utilises the latest Virus Protection Software to ensure the database does not fall victim to malicious virus attacks.

Secure Hardware
No one, other than the refero staff; (who have all been screened) has access the sRDMS hardware or network.

System Backup
The sRDMS system is backed up 'offsite' on a daily basis to guarantee no data is lost in the event of a natural disaster.

NO INFORMATION CAN BE RELEASED WITHOUT ALL LEVELS OF SECURITY BEING SATISFIED.
